Puget Sound Food Network is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Puget Sound Food Network Web site and governs data collection and usage. By using the Puget Sound Food Network website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

PSFN has established this privacy policy to explain to you how your information is protected, collected and used. This privacy policy may be updated by PSFN from time to time. PSFN will provide notice of materially significant changes to this privacy policy by posting notice on the PSFN site.

1. Protecting your privacy

·        We don’t share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

·        We don’t engage in cross-marketing or link-referral programs with other sites.

·        We don’t employ tracking devices for marketing purposes ("cookies", "web beacons," single-pixel gifs).

·        We don’t send you unsolicited communications for marketing purposes.

·        Account information is password-protected. Keep your password safe.

·        Forums use basic webserver authentication. Close your browser to log out.

·        PSFN, or people who post on PSFN, may provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites, and encourage all users to read the privacy policies of each and every website visited.

2. What information we collect and how we use this information

PSFN profile pages require users to give us contact information that may include name, address, email address, and telephone number along with information about your business, the types of products you buy and/or sell along with additional information about specific aspects of your business such as the size of your operation, the amount of food bought or sold in the region, etc.

We will use contact information (e-mail, telephone number and address) of PSFN members for these purposes only:

·        Distribution of receipts for membership fees.

·        Communicating with PSFN members about PSFN products and services.

·        Internal analysis and record keeping.

·        Reporting to relevant federal and state agencies (these reports are not for public inspection).

·        Contacting PSFN members about changes to our policy.

Usage data regarding trends such as items most searched for and metrics related to PSFN’s success in connecting food buyers and sellers is also routinely collected from the site itself and from surveys administered to PSFN users so that we can improve the tool, evaluate its efficacy, and report evaluation data to PSFN funders. In all cases, usage reports will be stripped of identifying information and presented in aggregated form only.

3. Other entities with access to PSFN information

From time to time we share aggregated information about who is using PSFN with third parties, as described above. NABC will never sell, trade, rent or share names, e-mail / mail addresses, or telephone numbers of PSFN members without the explicit permission of the member.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) has requested access to basic membership information for all Washington based PSFN members so that it can, from time to time, make PSFN users aware of WSDA programs or funding opportunities. We will only provide WSDA basic business information such as name, contact info business name, products produced and certifications held. No individualized information regarding PSFN usage will be shared.  Members can opt out of having contact information shared with WSDA by sending us a written request at PSFN Privacy c/o NABC, 419 South 1st Street, Suite 200, P.O. 4. Other Data we may collect

·        We sometimes collect your email address, for purposes such as sending self-publishing and confirmation emails, authenticating user accounts, providing subscription email services, registering for forums, etc.

·        We sometimes collect your phone number for account authentication purposes, and may transmit it to a third party service for tele-robotic verification.

·        PSFN does not store credit card information.

·        We make best efforts to collect user data that provides PSFN with an understanding of site traffic, frequent users, site commerce, and/or total use so that PSFN can continue to improve service to its users.

·        Our web logs collect standard web log entries for each page served, including your IP address, page URL, and timestamp. Web logs help us to diagnose problems with our server, to administer the PSFN site, and to otherwise provide our service to you.

5. Data we store

·        All classified and forum postings are stored in our database, even after "deletion," and may be archived elsewhere.

·        Our web logs and other records are stored indefinitely.

·        Although we make good faith efforts to store the information in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.

6. Circumstances in which PSFN may release information

·        PSFN may disclose information about its users if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.

·        PSFN may also disclose information about its users to law enforcement officers or others, in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: enforce our Terms of Use; respond to claims that any posting or other content violates the rights of third-parties; or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of PSFN, its users or the general public.

7. Internet Protocol Address

We collect an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, track users’ movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

8. Other Web Sites

Our Site contains links to other Web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another Web site for which NABC has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.

9. Choice/Opt-out

Members who do not wish to receive electronic updates from PSFN can opt out at any time by clicking "edit my profile" and selecting "no" to the question "Do you wish to receive email notifications from PSFN?"
